Curriculum Overview

Medellin National Science and Technology School provides a high-quality STEM education designed to prepare students for future success. The curriculum is grounded in the Department of Education’s K to 12 program and is significantly enhanced by the integration of the Special Program in Science, Technology, and Engineering (STE) within the Junior High School curriculum. This unique combination ensures a strong foundation in core subjects while delivering advanced learning in specialized STEM areas from the outset.

Junior High School (Grades 7-10)

The Junior High School program builds upon the standard K to 12 curriculum by integrating specialized STE subjects within the Technical Skill – Science and Technical Skill – Math courses.

    • Mathematics
    • Science
    • Araling Panlipunan (Social Studies)
    • MAPEH (Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health)
    • Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE)

Enhanced STEM Integration:

    • Technical Skill – Science: This course incorporates specialized STE subjects, including:
      • Environmental Science
      • Biotechnology
      • Consumer Chemistry
      • Electronics and Robotics
      • These subjects are presented in a practical and hands-on manner.
    • Technical Skill – Mathematics: This course focuses on advanced mathematical concepts and problem-solving techniques relevant to the specialized science topics, as well as general STEM applications.

Senior High School (Grades 11-12): Standard STEM Strand

The Senior High School program offers the standard DepEd STEM strand, providing students with advanced knowledge and skills in science and technology.

STEM Strand Curriculum:

      • Pre-Calculus
      • Basic Calculus
      • General Biology 1 & 2
